EVERRICH Expands Its Response to the “Earth Hour” Event

2024.03.23

The 2024 Earth Hour international environmental protection movement took place on March 23rd (Saturday) at 8:30 p.m., urging people worldwide to address the issue of climate change through the “lights-off” action.

As a landmark in Taiwan’s tourism industry, EVERRICH has long emphasized the practice of corporate social responsibility, with “public service orientation, benefiting the public” as its core values. It has responded to the lights-off action for seven consecutive years and is not absent this year either.

EVERRICH’s Taipei Downtown Store, Golden Lake Plaza (associated with Golden Lake Hotel), and the outlying Profond Pier 3 in Penghu (associated with Discovery Hotel), responded as usual. However, the Profond Duty-Free Shop in Dafu Port in Liuqiu also joined for the first time. These locations turned off decorative lighting and non-essential lighting equipment for one hour, in line with EVERRICH’s philanthropic concept of “environmental sustainability,” reducing energy consumption and contributing to energy-saving and carbon reduction efforts.

EVERRICH also participated in the lights-off event at Taiwan’s main gateway, Taoyuan International Airport. They voluntarily turned off non-essential electricity in the warehouse and administrative office areas within Taoyuan International Airport, reducing lighting intensity in the A4 Blue-and-white porcelain butterfly Waiting Lounge in Terminal 1, B7 massage stations and exhibition areas, as well as the dining area on the fourth floor of Terminal 2’s section C, highlighting the importance of energy conservation and carbon reduction to domestic and international travelers.

According to Taiwan Power Company’s statistics, the 2024 lights-off event set a new record, saving 289,000 kWh of electricity, equivalent to reducing approximately 143,055 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions. Ever Rich Duty Free Shop insists on providing travelers with high-quality services and continuously implements corporate social responsibility through beach cleanups, tree planting, and environmental measures to promote “EVERRICH 1%” ESG sustainable development. They invite everyone to contribute 1% of their efforts to Earth’s sustainability and showcase Taiwan’s green influence to the world.
