(Taipei, November 19, 2024) – Today, EVERRICH hosted the “2024 EVERRICH ESG Certification and Sustainable Tourism Retail Seminar (2024年昇恆昌EVERRICH永續發展面對面ESG報告書授證暨永續旅遊零售研討會)” today which commenced with a certification ceremony for its independently published 2022-2023 Sustainability Report. Industry stakeholders convened at this seminar to delve into the theme of “Sustainable Tourism Retail,” emphasizing the advancement of sustainable value chains in the fiercely competitive global tourism retail sector. As Taiwan’s first department store retailer certified under the GRI Standards, EVERRICH reaffirmed its commitment to these internationally recognized guidelines with the release of its updated Sustainability Report. The certification was conducted by the independent third-party organization Bureau Veritas Certification (Taiwan).

Advancing Corporate Social Responsibility: EVERRICH Independently Publishes 2022-2023 Sustainability Report
EVERRICH underscores its commitment to ESG principles and corporate influence by independently compiling and publishing its Sustainability Report. As early as 2014, EVERRICH Duty Free Shop became Taiwan’s first department store retailer to undergo sustainability performance verification and the world’s first certified duty-free shop. Continuing to uphold the highest standards of corporate social responsibility, EVERRICH has adopted the globally recognized GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards (GRI Standards) for the first time this year. The updated Sustainability Report was verified by Bureau Veritas Certification (Taiwan) in compliance with AA1000AS v3 Type 1 standards.

This event featured two sustainability seminars: Green Retail (綠色零售研討會) and Sustainable Hospitality (永續餐旅研討會). Attendees included Wei-fu Yang, Chairman of Taoyuan International Airport Corporation Ltd., Yu-yen Chien, Chairperson of the Taiwan Visitors Association, and representatives from 36 partner organizations. Kun-lin Li, founder of TTM, a partner with EVERRICH whose facial mask products are popular internationally, shared insights on the core philosophy of green retail, stating: “To collaborate with the world, one must master manufacturing, marketing, and sustainability simultaneously.” Several partners also shared about their efforts in integrating sustainability from production to packaging and sales, demonstrating the importance of synchronizing responsible production with responsible consumption to resonate with consumers. In the Sustainable Hospitality seminar (永續餐旅研討會), Hsin-chuan Huang, General Manager of Lion Travel, discussed the concept of low-carbon, slow travel. EVERRICH and its partners explored topics such as enhancing food safety and promoting the use of locally sourced ingredients, underscoring the importance of responsible consumption. These efforts are exemplified through the promotion of Taiwanese cuisine at airport gateways, showcasing Taiwan’s local culinary delights on an international stage.

1% of Time, Management, and Impact for Sustainability
Since 2023, EVERRICH has implemented the “EVERRICH 1%” initiative, advocating for 1% of time, management, and amplified impact to advance ESG goals. By October 2024, EVERRICH staff had organized 543 volunteer activities, logging over 48,192 volunteer hours and having fostered a company-wide volunteer culture. In its “1% Management” initiatives, EVERRICH encourages sustainable practices by awarding membership points to customers who do not use shopping bags and promoting paperless transactions. The company has earned dual Green Procurement Awards (綠色採購獎) from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Environment. Additionally, EVERRICH independently conducted a carbon footprint assessment for its Nankan Logistics Center (南崁物流中心), receiving verification from the internationally recognized British Standards Institution (BSI). These efforts underscore EVERRICH’s steadfast commitment to carbon reduction and environmental sustainability.

To foster greater corporate collaboration and support for ESG principles and the 1% impact effort, EVERRICH has hosted supplier conferences for two consecutive years, bringing together over 100 partners to pledge actionable support for ESG initiatives. Additionally, the “EVERRICH 1% Sustainability Action Exhibition (EVERRICH 1% 永續行動展)” showcases the company’s ESG efforts, driving the industry toward a more sustainable future. In 2024, EVERRICH was honored with the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Award, recognizing its tangible contributions to SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). The company also received the prestigious HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Award for its commitment to creating an exceptional work environment and comprehensive employee benefits.
