Before embarking on an international journey, travelers often spend time at the airport browsing duty-free shops and savoring gourmet food. To enhance this experience, EVERRICH has meticulously designed themed lounges and spaces across major airports, seamlessly integrating Taiwan’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. By bringing Taiwan’s diverse culture into the airport, EVERRICH offers both domestic and international travelers a fresh and immersive gateway experience.

Late last year, Kaohsiung International Airport introduced ocean-themed relaxation areas in both its east and west departure zones. Adjacent to the east zone’s lounge, a permanent marine-themed exhibition has been created. By integrating the exhibition into the waiting area, travelers can immerse themselves in Taiwan’s cultural charm, deepening their understanding and impression of the country while they wait for their flights.

The east zone’s ocean-themed lounge, The Mark of Black Gold, explores the symbiotic relationship between mullet fish and Taiwan’s traditional fishing communities. In collaboration with Hongmaogang Cultural Park, the space showcases rare fishing tools once used by early seafarers. An infinity mirror installation within the space creates a deep-sea atmosphere, evoking the mystery of the ocean. Through the integration of exhibits and art installations, travelers can gain a deeper understanding of the unique charm of the mullet fishing culture.

Meanwhile, the west zone relaxation area features “Kuroshio Black Tuna,” an exhibition that captures the grandeur of Taiwan’s bluefin tuna fishing industry. Striking imagery portrays the intense challenges and triumphs of catching this prized fish—an endeavor regarded as a true test of skill for Taiwan’s fishermen. Each year, the first bluefin tuna catch becomes the highlight of the Bluefin Tuna Cultural Festival, drawing the attention of countless visitors.

To complement the ocean-themed lounge, a newly established cultural gallery in the east zone hosts a permanent exhibition dedicated to marine conservation.

The current exhibit, Ocean Shadows, sheds light on the critical issue of marine pollution. Created in collaboration with PTS Plus and artist Chun-Yung Lin, the exhibition uses diverse artistic displays to raise awareness of contemporary oceanic challenges.
